... was the prime minister of Spain from 1976 to 1981. He was Spain's first democratically–elected prime minister since the overthrow of the Second Spanish Republic by Francisco Franco in 1939. His name was incorporated into the name of Madrid's airport (previously known as Madrid–Barajas) following his death in 2014.
